Quality Improvement Project- COVID-19 Procedures

Current Processes:

The current processes for handling COVID-19 include:

1. Coaches writing down names, temperatures, and symptoms for each attending student every day of practice

2. Caution tape over drinking fountains

3. Not switching benches during games, but no other sanitary precautions

4. Allowing students to take off their mask during practice

Potential causes of problems:

1. Time consuming, coaches sometimes don’t get to practice when the first player does, carrying a binder that has the ability to get lost/left somewhere

2. No real barrier to prevent students from using the drinking fountain

3. Even though teams aren’t switching benches, the ball is still being passed over the net and touched by people in the stands and referees

4. Some students play on more than one level (Freshman & JV, JV & Varsity); if one of the levels had an outbreak that would expose the whichever other levels had crossing players
